For the past few months, we have been working closely with Portland Bee Balm, our city’s own local chapstick champions. In addition to websites and new packaging that will be coming soon to a New Season’s near you, I recently took a day to stop by owner Brad Swift’s home workshop and see how some of the products get hand made.
The Swift home features a wood shop where many of the reusable wooden displays are assembled and finished, and a pair of small beehives in the back yard produce some of the wax that makes up the balms, as well as some pretty delicious honey.
